The City of Kennedale is hosting 3 events on Saturday, May 18, directed at children and their families (and pets). All events are scheduled for Sonora Park. They include fishing, pet contest, frisbee golf, “LOUD” and silent auction (lots of goodies) face painting and more plus the great outdoors.

It’s time for Bark in the Park! This great annual event was created to raise awareness regarding animal cruelty, the importance of pet vaccinations, and general pet care. This event includes: – Free pet registration (which is required in Kennedale) for residents! Proof of rabies vaccine required. – Low cost Vaccine clinic – Silent Auction to support Animal Control services – Pet Contest – Fun vendors! – Activities for Kids!

Sonora Park pond will be stocked and ready to go, so bring your friends and your fishing pole from and try your luck. What fish stories will you be able to tell at the end of the day?

In conjunction with Bark in the Park and KidFish, Kennedale will also be participating in National Kids to Parks Day! Hundreds of thousands of children nationwide, including here in Kennedale, will take part in a grassroots movement to discover America?s parks through play on Saturday, May 18, to commemorate National Park Trust?s (NPT) third annual National Kids to Parks Day. The Youth Advisory Council will be hosting a variety of activities in the park. Mayor Clark would like to encourage residents to use National Kids to Parks Day as the first of many days spent outdoors, at local parks and recreation sites, to develop more active, healthy lifestyles.
