A five-run explosion in the third inning led the Kennedale Wildcats to a 7-0 win in seven innings over Castleberry at Kennedale on Friday.
The Cats (12-5-1, 2-0) were led by a flawless day at the dish by Tyler Perez, who went 2-2 against Castleberry’s pitching. He singled in the third and fifth innings. {{more}}
Josh Taylor kept Castleberry off the board during his 6 2/3 innings of work. Josh allowed three hits, two walks and struck out eight.
Castleberry’s Eric Aquilbn was charged with the loss. He allowed seven runs in two innings, walked one and struck out one.
The lead stayed with Kennedale after the first, when they scored two runs by Aaron Williams and David Walsh after singles by Josh Taylor and Steven Murchinson.
In the third singles by Jake Michener, Taylor, Austin Eggleston, Murchinson, Perez (bunt) and a Kolton Hess walk. That would be all the Cats needed for the night.
