The Kennedale Lady Kat softball team has started district play with an explosion of runs and ?shut your mouth? pitching, blanking their first two district opponents 21-0 and 17-0. The Lady Kats (14-6, 2-0) are currently ranked #5 in state 3A softball. {{more}}
Tuesday night the Lady Kats opened district play against Diamond Hill and it was Kennedale ace pitcher, Allie Turner‘s night. No Diamond Hill batter was able to locate Allie’s pitches during the game. Allie threw a no-hitter, striking out nine batters and walking none while recording her no-hitter.
Twenty-one runs in the opening three innings allowed Kennedale Lady Kats to easily put away Diamond Hill. An RBI double by Aubrey Wooden and a two-run single by Maegan Garza during the first inning and an error, an RBI single by Elizabeth Schiele, a two-run error, an RBI triple by Maegan, and an RBI single by Rebekah Abair in the second inning helped Kennedale Lady Kats Varsity put some runs on the board early.
Elizabeth racked up four RBIs on two hits for Kennedale Lady Kats Varsity.
Friday night?s game against Castleberry didn?t allow the fans time to get popcorn and a drink before it was over. The Kats won the game 17-0 against the Lady Lions. Turner pitched 3 innings allowing no hits with one walk and 9 strikeouts.
Jazlyn Crowder hit a grand slam. Turner had a 3 base hit and Meagan and Carson Whatley each recorded doubles.
