F Austin LumberJacks who are making their third straight appearance in the NCAA National Division I Tournament.

 
The Lumberjacks come into the tournament with a NCAA best 20 game win streak. They are seeded #14 and will face #3 seed West Virginia (26-8) in the East Regional played at Brooklyn, NY. Game time is set for Friday at 6:10 p.m. and will be broadcast on Channel 11 KTVT
 

The Lumberjacks (27-5) finished the regular season as the Southland Conference Tournament Champions. This is also their third straight year as conference champions. They are coached by Brad Underwood. They are led by guard Thomas Walkup (Sr, 6-4, 195) out of Deer Park HS in Pasadena, TX who has won three straight MVP conference awards and averaged 17.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 4.6 assist, and shooting 60% from the field and 79% from the line this season. He also achieved a ?triple double? this year on February 29 when he scored 12 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assist. Other major threats for SFA are Demetrious Floyd and Trey Pinkney.

 
Last year the Lumberjacks went two rounds deep, losing to Utah in the 2nd.
 
As a freshman in 2014-15, Ty Charles played in all 34 games, including 21 starts, averaging 8.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game and scored in double figures 16 times and posted a team-best 14 points in the second round of the NCAA Tournament against Utah. This year Charles has started 27 games, averaging 9.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.3 assist per game. He is considered as part of SFA?s triple scoring threat.
 
This year he was one of three players featured on the front cover of the 2015-16 SFA Basketball Media Guide.
