The Kennedale Police Department reported the following incidents for the week period of August 13 through August 19, 2017 including several drug related incidents. {{more: Read more …}}
 
These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.
 
Incident Reports …
 
08/13 ? Public Intoxication ? Tealcove Drive: At 3:56 a.m. officers responded to a disturbance call. An adult male was attempting to force his way into a female?s apartment. The male was highly intoxicated and stated that he had been smoking marijuana earlier. After a brief struggle, the suspect was taken into custody and checked by medics. The suspect was transported to jail for booking.

08/13 ? DWI, Possession of Dangerous Drug ? Industrial Drive: At 3:01 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding and erratic driving. The adult female driver smelled of alcohol and was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. She was arrested for DWI and readied for transport to jail for booking. Before being transported the female was found to be in possession of several pills, including Oxycodone, in unlabeled pill bottles. She was charged with the narcotics as well as DWI 2nd due to a previous DWI conviction out of Arlington.

08/13 ? Terroristic Threat ? Shady Bend Drive: At 2:33 p.m. an officer received a report of a threatening e-mail received by a resident. The threat was of a nature indicating that the victim would be harmed or killed. The victim stated that she thought it was a hoax but wanted officers to be aware.

08/13 ? Theft $2,500 to $30,000 ? New Hope Road: At 7:09 p.m. an officer received a report about a stolen welder and trailer. The unit was taken in February of this year. The victim stated that a friend had discovered the welder/trailer for sale at a third party?s residence. After confirming that the item was in fact the one that was stolen, the case was turned over to the auto theft task force for recovery and further action.

08/15 ? Possession of Controlled Substance ? E. I-20: At 1:05 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The adult male driver was found to be in possession of cocaine during the violator interview. He was arrested for the narcotic and transported to jail for booking.

08/15 ? Abandoned/Found Property ? Bowman Springs Road: At 3:46 p.m. officers recovered a driver?s license and social security card from a citizen who found them by a mail box. The listed person was contacted and informed to pick them up at her convenience.

08/16 ? Burglary ? Arthur Drive: At 3:51 p.m. a victim reported that a lawn care worker had come to her home to mow the yard. The lawn care worker went into an unlocked shed and removed a $250 lawn mower. The offense was witnessed by a neighbor.

08/17 ? Theft $750 to $2,500 ? Caymus Street: At 2:00 p.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown came onto the property of a home under construction and removed a 5 tom air conditioner unit. The unit was valued at $2,000.00.

08/18 ? Hit and Run Accident ? W. Kennedale Parkway: At 11:45 p.m. a victim reported a hit and run accident. The victim stated that he was stopped at a red light when a white Cadillac CTS struck him from behind. The driver got out but stated that he had no insurance. He then got into the vehicle and fled. Using the license plate number provided, the officer located the vehicle and driver at a residence in Fort Worth. The driver confirmed he left due to no insurance. The driver was cited and released.

08/19 ? DWI ? Kevin Miller Road: At 1:25 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver appeared intoxicated and could not successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. He was arrested and transported to jail for booking. He refused to voluntarily give a blood sample. A warrant was obtained for a mandatory blood draw.

08/19 ? Dog at Large ? 800 block of Sublett Road: At 8:16 a.m. a complainant called police to report a loose dog. The complainant stated that she was running with her dog when a brown dog she believed to be a pit bull mix came charging toward her. The dog charged several times but did not attack. The animal then returned to its home. The owner was contacted and stated to the officer that the dog had gotten loose accidentally. The owner was cited for the dog at large.
