FORT WORTH–Paul Basaldu Sr., 87, of Fort Worth passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018. FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2018, at Mountain Valley Funeral Home, Joshua. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth. {{more: continue …}}?Paul was born June 29, 1930, in San Antonio to Mateo Basaldu and Simona Galindo. He was raised by Justo and Simona Martinez Galindo.?Paul wasthe male valedictorian of his high school class of 1950. Afterward, he joined the Air Force and served in Korea.? While in the service, he received four medals; National Defense Service Medal, United Nation Service
Medal, Korean Service Medal, and also the Good Conduct Medal.
?Paul earned hisBA degree from TCU and went on to teach in Uvalde, Texas. While there,? Paul was
offered a scholarship at Rice University in Houston. He accepted and went on to earned his
Master?s degree. It was then he began his long successful career at Kennedale ISD as an educator and coach. He retired from the school district in 1993.?
?Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Justo and Simona Galindo; son, Samuel Basaldu; great-granddaughter, McKynli Miller.?SURVIVORS: Son, Paul Basaldu Jr. and wife, Gayle; daughters, Linda Basaldu, Lisa Basaldu-Ramos and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Natalie Basaldu-Salem, Samantha Miller, Kimberly Basaldu-Panfield and husband, Nick, Amanda Miller-Nivens and husband, Mickey, Ray Miller Jr. and wife, Felecia, Simona Basaldu, Randall Miller, Andrew Basaldu, and Savannah Ramos; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Trent, Jaydan, Haper, Colton, Dylen, Conner, Ally, Ray III, and Serenity; sister, Mary Santos Soto.???
