Kennedale (30-3, 11-1) closed out another season with a district title Tuesday night with a win over the 3rd place team in District 9-4A, Western Hills, 67-31. The district title is shared with Dunbar who finished at 17-12, 11-1.? {{more: continue …}}?
This is the 6th time Kennedale has broken the 30 game win mark but this is only the 3rd time in school history for Wildcat basketball to finish with 30 or more wins headed into the playoffs. It also marks the 7th straight district title (2 were co-championships) and 11th title in the last 16 years. Kennedale has missed the playoffs only twice in the last 22 years and none in the last 10 years.

As a result of the co-championship, Kennedale and Dunbar must play a game to determine seeding for the UIL playoffs. The winner goes in as the #1 seed while the loser goes as the #2 seed. Both teams retain the co-champion title in district standing regardless of the outcome. The seeding game will be played Friday night the UIL playoffs begin next week.

Dunbar and Kennedale split games earlier this season with Kennedale winning the first meeting 73-53 while Dunbar won the second game 75-66.?

- Q1 ? Kennedale scored first but Western Hills followed with a three for their first and only lead of the game. Western Hills scored only one more point while Kennedale scored 13 points to finish off the quarter Score 15-4.
- Q2 ? Kennedale stayed on top throughout the period. The Cats stretch the lead to 17 points early in the quarter before closing out the quarter at 29-14.
- Q3 ? The Cats had a big quarter shutting down WH to 7 points while hitting the net for 18, pushing the score to 47-21.
- Q4 ? Kennedale finish the deal with a 20 point quarter giving Western Hills no chance for a rally and sealing the title for Kennedale.
- Western Hills remains in 3rd place in the district standing at 21-12, 7-5 just ahead of Castleberry at 22-9, 6-6. Both teams are in the playoffs as 3rd and 4th seed respectively.?
