It is one of the downfalls of the guarantee that four teams from each district earn a playoff spot. When you have the top team from one district playing the 4th team from another, it is often not pretty. Such was the case Monday night when Kennedale won 105-9 over Uplift North Hills Academy.?

It should get harder after the first round of play but for Kennedale (21-13, 12-0) the next obstacle is big. The Lady Kats will play the Pinkston High School Vikings (24-8, 10-2). Pinkston finished in second place in District 7-4A behind Lincoln HS (27-4, 12-0).

While Lincoln is ranked #4 in Class 4A according to TABC, Pinkston like Kennedale comes in unranked in the Top 25. On Tuesday night, Pinkston defeated Sanger 51-44. Sanger, as a 3rd seed from District 11-4A, finished the season at 11-23, 5-4.

In common opponents, Kennedale and Pinkston both beat R.L Turner (58-31, 67-44 respectively). Both Kennedale and Pinkston lost to Ennis ( 45-35, 51-36). Pinkston owns a win against Ranchview 44-32. Kennedale has a loss and a win against Ranchview, losing 55-45 but winning three days later 77-69.

Three of the four the teams out of District 9-41 won their bi-district match-ups. Beside Kennedale winning, Benbrook defeated Oak Cliff Faith Family 48-37 and Dunbar defeated Summit International 55-28. Lake Worth as the #4 seed lost to Ranchview 46-38. In the area round, Dunbar will match up against # 4 Lincoln and Benbrook is set to go against unranked Aubrey.?
