The Kennedale departments of public safety will hold a joint open house on October 26, 2019. It is billed as a family event and will be held in conjunction with a prescription drug collection/disposal day. {{more:? continue …}}

Public Safety Open House ?

The event will offer free hotdogs, children’s bounce house and squirt house along with a vehicle extrication demonstration, a Careflight helicopter. There will be animal control and fire & crime prevention information. Smoke detectors and vehicle VIN etching will available (etching provided by the TRI-County Auto Theft Task Force).?
All of the city?s first-responders will be there – Police, Fire, Paramedics, and EMTs.

Details: Saturday October 26, 10:00 AM to Noon- Kennedale Fire/EMS Station, 100 Cloverlane Drive in Kennedale.

Notice Of Road Closure: A small portion of Crestview Drive will be closed from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, to accommodate this event.??

Drug Take-Back Day ?

The goal of the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.?
?
Last time it was a success.? During the last event last spring, Kennedale police officers collected just over 30 pounds of unused or expired medication, and the DEA Dallas Field Division (North Texas and Oklahoma) collected more than 46,000 pounds in total.
