Wildcat Band has started their playoffs

 
The Kennedale Wildcat Marching Band has begun the UIL marching band version of the state playoffs. Over the last dozen years or so the Wildcat Band has established a reputation for excellence {{more:Read more …}}and, if all goes as it should, the Wildcats should be making their 6th straight state appearance.
 
extraordinary team work …
 
This takes extraordinary leadership and extraordinary team work. This team includes 140 members working in unison and precision. There are no benchwarmers or back-ups because everyone performs every minute with no timeouts. They are either all in or all out.
 
Last week in Springtown, the Wildcat Band was awarded all ones on its performance at the Region 30 UIL Contest in the first round UIL competition meaning they performed at the top level. Also competing were Alvarado, Castleberry, Godley, Glen Rose, Lake Worth, Springtown and Venus.
 
In two run-up competitions over the past several weeks, the Wildcat Band won Best in 4A at each.
 
now advances to Area …
 
Kennedale now advances to the Area D 4A Marching Contest this Saturday, October 29 at Mary Hardin Baylor University in Belton, Texas.
 
With the risk of jinxing things, the next step after Saturday is the state competition in San Antonio at the Alamodome Tuesday, November 7.
