Andy was born Nov. 22, 1958, to Frank and Norma Mentlik in Gideon, Mo. Andy grew up the oldest, and only boy, with three sisters. They were part of an Air Force family, and lived in such places as New York, California, and Mississippi, settling in the Arlington area when he was 11.

Following high school, he enlisted in the Air Force. Andy will always be remembered as an outgoing guy who loved to introduce himself to everyone he met. He was known to pray for everyone in his life, no matter how removed. He loved trips to Glen Rose to see the dinosaur tracks, and the annual trip to Missouri for the family reunion.

Although he battled schizophrenia from the age of 20, Andy never let it break his spirit or diminish his faith in the Lord. He took everything in his stride and is an inspiration to all who knew him.

SURVIVORS: He is survived by his mother, Norma Bray; sisters, Debbie Jaynes (Dwight), Rhonda Rachel (Jay), and Angela Davis (Don); as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members.
