Arlington Stovall Park has new curfew hours

Because of on-going complaints of late night disruptive activities at S.J. Stovall Park, curfew hours have changed at the park with earlier hours for closing each day. {{more: continue …}}

The new hours will close the park from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily according to the Arlington?s City Parks and Recreation Department. Stovall Park, a popular park for Kennedale area residents, is located at 2800 W Sublett (Bad Konigshofen Family Aquatic Park). The same hours will be imposed at Richard Simpson Park at Lake Arlington.

The new hours will go into effect this Friday, January 12, 2017. Violators will be subject to a misdemeanor citation with a fine up to $500.

Complaints have come from the neighborhoods surrounding the parks and included large groups of people gathering late at night with loud music, cars coming and going along with fights, gunshots and fireworks.

This has been an ongoing issue every since later hours were adopted when the the water park opened several years ago.
