Kennedale will host a “Bird Identification Workshop on Saturday, January 17th 8:00 a.m. – 10:00a.m. Class will meet at the Kennedale City Hall Conference Room, 405 Municipal Drive.
 

Classroom instruction will be the first thirty minutes (8 – 8:30 a.m.) and a field trip to the Southwest Nature Preserve off of Bowman Springs Road follows. {{more}}

The 8:00 AM workshop will cover the following topics:

  • presentation on bird anatomy as it pertains to field identification
  • birds common to this region during the winter
  • basic ecology, habitat associations, and behaviors to assist in identification.

If you are an experience bird watcher and don?t need instruction? Join the class at 8:30AM for the bird-watching practice section!

 
The class will visit the boardwalk at the South Pond in Southwest Nature Preserve and will also hike along one of the trails.
 
The concrete trail leading to the boardwalk is handicapped accessible. Please note the other trails may have some steep climbing.
