Lyon College (Arkansas) sophomore middle infielder Jordan Braswell from Kennedale, Texas has been named to the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 squad in the College Division.

 
Braswell posted a perfect 4.0 grade point average, while majoring in Economics. {{more:[read more]}} Braswell was a 3 year starter with the Kennedale Wildcats baseball team and a member of the 2011 State Championship squad.
 

The Lyon

College Athletics baseball team had just one member named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic (CoSIDA) All-District Baseball Team, which recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

 
The All-District squad includes NAIA and two-year colleges from Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana and Tennessee. Athletes honored are done so by meeting minimum criteria and then being voted upon by CoSIDA members across the nation.
 
They must have at least a 3.30 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s games at the position listed on the nomination form. He must also have completed one full calendar year at his current institution and reached sophomore athletic eligibility. The Academic All-District teams include the student-athletes from institutions divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
 
This is the fifth year of the expanded Academic All-America? program as CoSIDA moved from recognizing a University Division (Division I) and a College Division (all non-Division I) and has doubled the number of scholar-athletes honored. The expanded teams include NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, while the College Division Academic All-America? Team combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools. The Division II and III Academic All-America? program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2015-16 DII and DIII Academic All-America? teams program.
 
First-team Academic All-DistrictT honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America? Team ballot, where first, second and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
