CS Team Sweeps Region Meet

The Kennedale High School Computer Science Team earned “Gold” at the Region 1 UIL Academic Meet last week. Not only did the team win first but in individual competition, they took the first through fourth places. The team will now advance to state. {{more}}
 
The four member team winning gold medals were Cody Kovar (1st place individual), Blake Bunnell (2nd place individual), Tyler Ward (3rd place individual) and Danny To (4th place individual). Coach for the team is KHS Computer Science teacher Shaheen Matuni.

Pablo Cruz in

State UIL Competition for Social Studies

Also moving on to state competition is Pablo Cruz, placing 3rd in the Social Studies field. His coach is KHS History teacher Jena Wood.
 
In March, the 37 member KHS academic team won the district meet, sending 17 members to region. Twenty-nine schools competed at the region meet in Lubbock, April 24-25 held on the campus of Texas Tech University.
 
The UIL Academic State Meet will be May 25-27, 2015 on the University of Texas campus in Austin.
