Win, lose or draw, the Kennedale Wildcats, with one game remaining have secured their first district title since 2013 with the victory over Springtown Tuesday night in Springtown. {{more: READ MORE …}}
 
The Wildcats (16-8, 10-1) secured their 6 straight shutout, this one behind the pitching of Jared Tayor who threw a no-hitter. Taylor went 5 innings, facing 16 batters, throwing 70 pitches with no runs, no hits while striking out 8 and walking 2.

The Cats were hot at the plate scoring 15 runs on 12 hits. Three batters registered 3RBIs ? Reed Saenz (3/2, 3RBIs & a walk); Bryce Hackett (4/2, 3RBIs) and Austin Crabtree (2/1, 3RBIs w double). Others with multiple hits included JD Padgett (3/2, 2RBIs w double), Aaron Herrera (3/2, 1RBI), and Cole Carruthers (3/2, 1RBI). Jared Taylor got a double and earned 2RBIs.
 
The game was tied until the third when the Cats crossed the plate 4 times. It started with lead off batter Cole Carruthers who singled with a fly ball.. Carruthers advanced to 2nd on a sacrifice blunt by Austin Crabtree. After stealing 3rd, Carruthers scored on a single by JD Padgett. Padgett make it to third on a successful bunt by Brayden Sewell. The bases were loaded after a successful bunt by Aaron Herrera. Padgett the scored on a flyout by Jared Taylor. A single by Reed Saenz scored Sewell and moved Herrera to 3rd. The final score of the inning came with a single by Bryce Hackett that scores Herrera. The inning ended on a line drive out by Ethan Wood.
 
It was the 5th that ended the game early when the Cats scored 10 runs. The scoring was driven by a single by Carruthers, a double by Crabtree, a single by Herrera, a single by Saenz, and a fielder’s choice by Hackett.
 
Senior night then playoffs …
 
The Wildcats will celebrate Senior Night at Jet Teague Ballpark Friday night with the last game of the season playing Benbrook High School. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
 
Playoffs will start the following week.
