Pablo Cruz graduated two years ago from Kennedale High School and earned a four year scholarship to the University of Chicago. {{more: CONTINUE…}}
 

Two years ago, Cruz, speaking at this high graduation, said, ?A high school education is great, but there?s more to an education than just grades and diplomas. To become truly educated, we have to expand our perspective and challenge ourselves. Sometimes it?ll be hard, other people will seem to achieve success effortlessly while you barely make it through the day, but that?s life, it?s not fair, and the only thing you can do is to keep persevering as best as you can.?

 
Now in his sophomore year at UC while still deciding on his study options with a possible major in economics and public policy (specialization in international relations), he has already been to China and is considering doing more study abroad.
 
After graduating from college, Cruz is considering graduate school for public policy so that he can pursue a career in international relations or diplomacy. Another option after graduating is consulting.
 

He called going to China ?incredible.? He went on to say, ?The program was sponsored by the Wanxiang Corporation (an automotive components Chinese company) as part of an initiative to foster exchange between Chinese and American students.?
 
?I researched clean energy policy and learned about the programs China is doing,? he said.
 

Asked about how hard was it to adjust to college life, Cruz responded, ?The hardest adjustment at college has been improving my time management, as it is crucial to maintain a good life and work balance.?

 
But he added, ?My favorite thing, however, would probably be all the opportunities for meeting new people learning new things.?
