City Council will meet in regular session Monday, June 27 in Council Chambers beginning at 7pm with a work session scheduled for 6pm. {{more:[read more]}}

Among the items to be considered will be the annual selection of the position of Mayor Pro-Tem, a position currently held by City Council member Kelly Turner. The Mayor Pro-Tem serves at the disgression of the City Council and acts in the absence of the Mayor.
 
revised plan for Swiney Estates …
 
The Council will also consider a revised concept plan for the Swiney Estates Planned Development area that would include 35 single residential lots. This is an area of undeveloped land along Bowman Springs Road and across from the Southwest Nature Preserve. The original plan was approved in January of this year but preliminary engineering and site design suggested an alternate entrance that would be better suited to the development. It would also include a ?more generous open space buffer? for the neighborhood. Proposed Site Plan
 
updated schedule of fees …
 
The Council will be updating the schedule of fees approved last October that would include the following changes or additions: new Records Request fees, new Storm Water Deposit, change the Court Credit Card Fee to 6% based on new agreement with Traffic Payment, adjust the Finger Print Fees to correct amount, and adding zoning verification letter and plan review fees that were left off previous schedule. parks & recreation 10 year plan …
 
And, of significant interest, will be a presentation of the proposed 2016-2026 Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan of the City Plan. City master plans serve as the blueprint for future development and are often overlooked by the citizens who later wonder why certain actions are taken by the city. A presentation will be made by Larry Hoover, Streets/Parks Superintendent for Kennedale. The Kennedale Parks and Recreation Board and the Kennedale Youth Advisory Board have both reviewed and approved the Master Plan.
