City Elections set for May 10 for three position on city council

The 2014 General Election for the City of Kennedale will take place on Saturday, May 10th in the Kennedale Community Center. Up for election this year are three positions. Filing for these position started yesterday, January 29th and will continue to February 28th. {{more}}

 
Up for election this year is the office of Mayor and Place 2 and 4 on the City Council. The Council consists of a mayor and five Councilmembers who

are elected at-large by majority vote of the qualified voters of the city. Each

member serves a two-year term, and there are no term limits.

 
Currently the Mayor position is held by John Clark. Place 2 is held by Liz Carrington and Place 4 is held by Kelly Turner.

To run for office in the City of Kennedale, the following qualifications must be met:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be a citizen of the United States
  • Be a qualified voter of the City of Kennedale
  • Be a resident of the City of Kennedale and have resided in the City for at least one year immediately preceding the date of the election
  • Not be otherwise disqualified from serving on the City Council by any other provision of law
