City Manager Announces Resignation of Kennedale Finance Director Brady Olsen

City Manager George Campbell announced today the resignation of City Of Kennedale Finance Director Brady Olsen. Olsen has served as the City?s chief financial officer since his appointment in May 2017. {{more: continue …}}

?During his tenure Brady has achieved a number of accomplishments that have improved the City?s financial reporting and budgeting processes, recommended the engagement of a new auditing firm, and played a key role in the development of an agreement with the City of Arlington to assume the operation and maintenance of Kennedale?s utility systems,? Campbell said.
?
In his role as Finance Director, Olsen oversees the functions of the Finance Department; development and monitoring of the City?s $15 million annual budget; coordination of the annual financial audit; management of the City?s investments; and supervises several departments, including Information Technology, Utility Billing, Municipal Court, and the Library.
?
?His previous experience in municipal finance and as an analyst for Moody?s Investors Service has served to significantly benefit the City of Kennedale and our citizens,? Campbell said. ?We appreciate his many contributions as part of the City?s Leadership Team and wish him well.?

Olsen received undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Economics from Texas A&M, where he was awarded a Graduate Merit Fellowship Grant for Texas A&M University. He went on to earn a Master of Public Service and Administration from the Texas A&M University Bush School of Government and Public Service. He is currently a Certified Government Finance Officer and a member of the Government Finance Officer Association of Texas.

Mr. Olsen has accepted a new position in another city organization. He will continue his employment in Kennedale through Friday, April 12.
