City needs households to complete recycling survey

The City of Kennedale hopes to make a decision in January on expanding a trial recycling program in the Steeplechase area to citywide. {{more}}

This month the City is asking households in the Steeplechase additions to provide some feedback by answering a short online survey.

After reviewing the survey results, city officials will meet with Progressive Waste Solutions to discuss ending or expanding the program.

According to a city email, the current trial program will continue until the end of January. If the City decides to go with a citywide program, it will start sometime after January.

The proposed program is called single stream recycling or one that does not require separating recyclable items. Waste Management provides a container which is picked once a week. Non-recyclable items are still picked up on the current schedule.

The City needs to get feedback from the citizens that have been a part of the trial before making a decision. They may take the survey anytime, day or night.

A survey is now online at the City of Kennedale webpage at Recycling Survey Kennedale.

Part of the survey is the same as the first survey but new questions were added at the end of the survey to gauge changing attitudes. Survey deadline is December 31.
