Cross Country Teams Place 3rd at District Meet Advance to Regionals Saturday

On October 23 at Vandergriff Park in Arlington, both the Wildcats and Lady Kats teams advanced to regionals by placing 3rd in the District 6-3A meet. ?Shaderricka Lee placed 5th in women’s division and Dan Gonzalez, Cameron Christoforo, and Marc Johnson all placed in the top 10 of the men’s division. ?{{more}}
The same week Kennedale Junior High finished 3rd in their district in both the girls and boys divisions. In the girls division, Hillsboro and Alvarado each had 48 points followed by Kennedale with 53 points. In the boys division, Alvarado had 18 followed by Hillsboro at 53 and Kennedale with 60.

Regional championships for the high school teams will be in Lubbock at Mae Simmons Park this Saturday.

Earlier in the month at the Ken Gaston Invitational on October 3, the Wildcat Varsity team placed 2nd and the Lady Kats Varsity team was 7th. Top runners for the day for the Wildcats were Cameron Christophoro (5th), Dan Gonzales (7th), Marc Johnson (8th), Michael Vargas (13th) and Carson Ham (19th) out of 67 runners. Top Lady Kat runners were Jamie Najar (25th) and Shania Roper (29th) out of 61 runners.
At the same meet the Lady Kats JV finished fourth with two runners in the top 25 out of 55, Baylee Gow (14) and Sophia Bauer (25). There was not a separate division for the men?s junior varsity so the Wildcat JV competed in the 5A-4A division. Out of 308 runners, Keith Schake (54) and Daniel Escobar (82) and Trey Burke (141) finished in the top half of all runners
