Jazlyn Crowder, a 2015 stand out for the Kennedale Lady Kat Softball team, has made some big waves at Louisana Tech University this year after transferring from Tyler Junior College last year on the completion of her freshman year. {{more: READ MORE …}}

In her first year for the Bulldogs of LA Tech, Crowder was named an All-Conference USA Second Team outfielder. She earned the honors starting 58 games playing outfield, shortstop and first base while batting .293 with 54 hits, 16 doubles, three triples, six home runs, 42 runs and 27 RBI.
 
She turned heads this year because she scored a LA Tech single season record 49 runs while driving in 27; was 9-of-11 in stolen bases; led Louisiana Tech in hits, extra base hits, total bases and runs; recorded the second most doubles in a single season in Tech history; led Tech with 17 multi-hit games; had a season-best/team-best 13 game hitting streak and had 7 multi-RBI games.
 
Not only that she was named to the Commissioner?s Honor Roll and named ta Conference USA Academic Medalist.

All this is just a continuation of her stellar career. At Tyler she played shortstop and helped lead the Apache to a 60-6 record and a fifth place finish nationally. For her freshman year, she batted .449 with 15 home runs, 67 RBI, 92 runs and 45 stolen bases. She ranked Top 5 nationally in hits (106) and doubles (30). She was named All-Conference Region XIV East 1st Team Infield, All-Region XIV 1st Team Infield, 3rd Team NJCAA and NJCAA/Marucci Elite.

While at Kennedale, Crowder lettered all four years for coaches Amy Prater and Chris Reue, while helping to lead the team to the district title three of the four years. The Lady Kats also advanced to the state quarterfinals three of those years. She was named district Newcomer of the Year as a freshman; named district offensive and defensive player of the year in her sophomore and junior years; named the district MVP her senior year and was named to the Class 4A All-state team as a senior.
