This Thursday evening, January 29th, in the Kennedale High School Wildcat Auditorium (inside the high school building), the Kennedale PTA will host a one hour presentation of ?Don’t Stand By, Stand Up? an anti-bullying program. {{more}}
 
This is a free event, open to the general public from 6-7 p.m. It is for parents, grandparents and anyone who has children, teaches children or supervises children.
 
Kennedale High School is located at 901 Wildcat Way, Kennedale, Texas 76060.
 
According to information supplied by the Texas PTA organization, every seven minutes a child is bullied, 85% of the time peers are present and no one intervenes.

This program gives ways that the bystander, without him or herself becoming a target, can help in a bullying situation. It helps parents give guidelines to their children in what to do and what not to do in these situations that occurs too often and that are usually out of the hearing or sight of adults.
 
Briefly the video examines the causes and effect, prevention techniques and the legal/ethical issues surrounding bullying.
 
For teachers it is an opportunity to obtain one hour of CTE credit.
