Eight Wildcats make All-State Academic Team in football

The Texas Army National Guard and the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) has named 2015-16 Academic All-State award recipients for football. Eight players off the 12-1 Kennedale Wildcat Football team have made the teams this year, all seniors. {{more}}
 
In the announcment THSCA said, ?We understand that students? performance in the classroom can sometimes be difficult to manage while participating in athletics, but their hard work has not gone unnoticed. The THSCA Academic All-State Teams recognize high school athletes who excel in the following categories: GPA, class rank and ACT/SAT score. The students below are being recognized as a team member based on their scores in these categories.?
 
Leading the way for the Wildcats was Jonathan Zielinski with a first team selection. Kaiser McGlothen and Mason Malone earned 2nd team honors. Rounding out the selections for Kennedale was Hayden Brock, Andrew Long, Dustin Masner, Cameron Norris and Matt Naugle.
 

Three Kennedale volleyball players earned TGCA All-State honors also (see Three

All-State) this year along with one KHS Cross Country runner, Claire Hamilton.

 
Four players made the All-State Academic football team last year ? Zane Kottwitz, Cody Kovar, Jake Michener and Aaron Williams.
 
Five players were recognized in 2013 – Hugo Giron, Rodrigo Hernadez-Pleitez, Brandon Hull, Hunter McGahan and Marshall Moody.
