Five earn All-district for Wildcat Soccer

Five Kennedale High School Wildcat soccer players were named to the 8-4A All-District team this year. The team was also honored with a proclamation from the KISD Board of Trustees for making the playoffs for the second year in a row. {{more:[read more]}}

First year Head Coach {{t2:Heath Wakeland: }}, who was also

recognized with a proclamation, said of the team.

?From last year to this year, the team graduated 13 seniors,

nine were starters out of eleven on the field, so this team is very young [in playing

experience]. That was probably our

biggest obstacle this year to overcome. I really did see a lot of upper

classmen leadership. I am very proud of them.”

He went on to say, ?What we did see is a lot of good progress

all the way through the year which is what you want to see in a young

team. I am really looking forward to

next year.? Wakeland also praise the team captains for this year – Clay Hickey,

Jared Birr and Juan Ramirez. He noted that

both Birr and Hickey will be returning next year.

 
Winning special recognition were
  • {{t2:Mike Kaszynski: }}, Sr. – Co-offensive player of the year
  • {{t2:Juan Ramirez: }}, Sr. – Goalkeeper of the year

Earning first team honors were

  • {{t2:Clay Hickey: }}, Jr., MF;
  • {{t2:Will Johnson: }}, Fr., D;
