This season has Kennedale playing in District 6-4A with a mix of old and new opponents. In order of schedule, Kennedale (2-2) plays Castleberry (3-1), FTW Western Hills (3-1), Lake Worth (3-2), FTW Dunbar (1-2), FTW Diamond Hill (3-2), and then ends the season with FTW Benbrook (3-1).

The Lions of River Oaks have already tripled their wins from last year when they finished 1-9 overall and 1-4 in district play.? They are returning 11 starters off of last year’s team – 6 on offense and 5 on defense.

Castleberry is coming off of a 15-14 win over Godley (2-2) last week. They opened the season with a 46-13 win over FTW Carter-Riverside (0-5) followed by a 45-16 win over FTW Northside (2-3). Their loss was by a score of 50-48 against Gainesville (1-3) in the third week of the season.

In the Godley win, Castleberry managed a comeback win in the 4th with a touchdown and a two point conversion.
