Terrell dominated the game on offense and defense. The Tigers ran for 286 yards while limited Paris to 102 yards. The big playmaker for Terrell is Elijah McQueen who had 198 yards (7.1 yards per carry) last week. He added another 48 yards on a kick-off return. McQueen also doubles as linebacker and added 7 tackles to his game stats.
Because of the win, Terrell moved into 7th place statewide in MaxPreps Class 4A DI rankings (Kennedale is #2) and #9 in Dave Campbell?s Texas Football (Kennedale #7). Terrell is also #2 behind #1 Kennedale in 4A Region II in this week?s Texas High School Coaches poll.down from 5A last year …
Terrell just moved down from Class 5A where they powered through their district by going 7-0 and ended the season at 11-2, losing out in the regional semi-finals to Lancaster 40-21.
The Tigers had listed 11 starters returning this year, 5 on offense and 6 on defense. One, who has not been listed on the new roster, is quarterback Klayton Henderson, reportedly out with an injury. He was a big part of their offense last year, passing for 1,365 yards last year and 16 touchdowns. He was replaced by senior Tiyea Zanders who completed one pass last week. If he remains out count on the Tigers using their running game almost exclusively this week.Head Coach is Mike Shields, who will be starting his 3rd year at Terrell, going 8-4 and 11-2 his first two years.
