Alyssa Halla, KHS 2014, is graduating nexct month from Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandizing in (FIDM) in Los Angeles. The FIDM is a for-profit college in California, offering courses in fashion, entertainment, beauty, interior design, and graphic design. {{more: continue …}}

This past year, Alyssa was one of just ten textile designers chosen for the Chairing Styles program. The designs were shown during FIDM Debut this past April. Held each spring, the DEBUT Runway Show features designs by graduating students in the Fashion Design and Theatre Costume Design Advanced Study programs, as well as work from Interior Design, Digital Media, and Textile Design students.?

Program Director, Mary Stephens, shepherded the Fashion Design Advanced Study Program and DEBUT from its early beginnings and worked closely with the students throughout the year to develop their collections. As many as 60 students apply to the exclusive program each year, but only ten are accepted.?
The program was held April 7 and Halla’s team won the team collaboration award.?
The event attracts nearly 10,000 people over three days and concluded with the DEBUT Runway Show & Gala, a scholarship fundraising event attended by industry notables, FIDM Alumni, and fashion celebrities.?
