The Kennedale Historical Society, Kennedale Library and Kennedale City Mayor Johnson are working together to bring monthly History Lectures series to the Library Community Room. {{more: continue … }}

The first lecture is March 8th at 6:30 PM and will last about an hour. Mayor Johnson is coordinating with TCC Faculty to give about a 45 minute lecture on a different facet of history each month.

The topic this month will be on the history of NASA. The National

Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is an independent agency of the executive

branch of the United States federal government responsible for the civilian

space program, as well as aeronautics and aerospace research. NASA is currently at a crossroads in funding and direction and the history of this program should provide some insights into the current identity crisis facing the fabled institution.?

The Kennedale Historical Society is providing light refreshments for those attending. Each lecture will be free and open to the public.
