Incident Reports for August 6 -12, 2017

The Kennedale Police Department reported the following incidents for the week period of August 6 through August 12, 2017 including several alcohol related incidents. {{more: Read more … }}

These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.
 

Incident Reports …

 
8/6 – Application for Mental Detention and Observation – At 8:20 p.m. officers responded to a burglary in progress. On arrival they met with an adult female who stated that someone was in her home. A check of the home revealed no one inside. It became evident that the female was having a mental episode of some type. After speaking with a family member the female was taken into custody and transported to JPS for an emergency detention and evaluation.

8/7 ? Vehicle Burglary – Industrial Drive: At 5:09 p.m. an officer responded to a report of a vehicle burglary. The owner of a custom accessory shop reported that five vehicles belonging to customers had been entered. Only two of the vehicles were missing property. Both had the stereo radios taken. Two of the five vehicles were unsecured.

8/8 – Application for Mental Detention and Observation – At 7:59 a.m. officers responded to a fire department assist call. An adult male had been drinking heavily for some time and had fallen, causing injury to his head. The male was making threats to harm himself and his blood pressure was extremely high. The male was taken into custody and transported by ambulance to JPS Hospital for ER treatment. He was then turned over to JPS personnel for emergency detention and mental evaluation.

8/8 – Forgery – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 12:56 p.m. an officer responded to a forgery report. A male had entered a bank and tried to cash a check that appeared to be forged. During the verification process the male became nervous and began to threaten bank personnel. He was given the check and identification back and he left the building before police were called.

8/8 – Burglary – Woodland Court: At 6:47 p.m. a victim reported to police that his washing machine was stolen from his home. The victim stated that he moved out of the residence on 08-01-2017 and returned on the 8th to remove the washing machine, which was a rental. The rental company required the victim to make a report.

8/8 ? Theft $100 to $750 – 900 block of Wildcat Way: At 9:05 p.m. a victim reported that her juvenile son?s bicycle was taken from school property by a known suspect. The suspect stated he would return the bike the next day but failed to do so. The bike was valued at $129.00.

8/9 – Application for Mental Detention and Observation – At 8:12 p.m. officers responded to a citizen assist. Officers met with the parents of an adult male who had been threatening all day to commit self-harm. The male confirmed that he had made the treats to self-harm. He was transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency detention and evaluation.

8/10 – Criminal Mischief $100 to $750 – Bowman Springs Road: At 1:50 p.m. a victim reported that his work van was damaged overnight. Person(s) unknown broke out a driver side rear window.

8/10 – Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) – Spring Branch Lane: At 9:17 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A husband and wife were arguing when the female began to strike the male. He had injuries consistent with his story. The female who had been drinking, was arrested for family violence and transported to jail for booking.

8/11 – Driving While Intoxicated – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 1:26 a.m. an officer responded to a report of a reckless driver. The vehicle and driver were parked at a business on Kennedale Parkway. The vehicle and driver were located, and the officer contacted the driver. The adult male did not smell of alcohol but did appear to be under the influence. He was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety test and was arrested for DWI. While being transported to jail the suspect made several threats toward the officer and his family. Once at the jail a blood draw warrant was obtained and sample taken from the suspect by jail medical staff.

8/12 – Driving While Intoxicated – 100 block of Mansfield Avenue: At 2:25 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for erratic driving. The adult male driver appeared to have been drinking heavily. He was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment and was transported to jail for booking. He refused to give a blood specimen without a warrant.

8/12 – Assault by Contact – At 2:30 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance. A father reported that his adult son had been at his home. The son became argumentative and pushed the father. The son was arrested for the assault and transported to jail for booking.
