It’s official Edwards is Fairfield Superintendent

The Fairfield ISD has named Rick Edwards to the superintendent position. He comes to Fairfield from Kennedale ISD where he was Associate Superintendent. [Kennedale News had reported last month that he was the sole finalist with a final Board approval to be scheduled.] {{more}}
 
Edwards stated that he was raised in a small town and he loves the small town feel. He officially began his position with Fairfield ISD on July 7th and said that it is like coming home. Everyone is so friendly.
 
Mr. Edwards is a graduate from Appalachian State University, Class of 1987, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Math and Education. He first taught in the rural North Carolina Mountains. He has held positions such as business finance, human resources, technology, community relations, political oversight and has taught math, chemistry, drafting and computer science.
 
Edwards received his Masters degree in Educational Leadership at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee and served as assistant principal in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
 
He is blessed with his wife, Melinda and two daughters, Mallory and Jennifer. Melinda works out of the couple?s home and daughter Mallory is studying to be an educator also, at Wichita Falls. Daughter Jennifer works in the corporate offices at J.C. Penney.
