The Kennedale Junior High cheer squad took part in the National Cheerleaders Association camp held at Sam Houston State University on June 12-15, 2017 and returned with number of awards. {{more: Read more … }}
 
Superior awards and spirit sticks …
 
While at camp, the girls were evaluated on their ability to perfect new material, execute stunts and engage the crowd effectively. Each day the team was awarded Superior ribbons, NCA?s highest evaluation distinction and received 3 spirit sticks.
 
Top division trophy …
 
The 2017-2018 squad also won the Junior High Game Day Division. Judging criteria for this competition included how well the girls communicated with the crowd, suitability for a pep rally or sideline, strength of motions and overall appeal.
 
Multiple All-American nominations …
 
Throughout camp, cheerleaders were also nominated by NCA staff members for All-American. Nominations are given to those that excel in jumps, tumbling, stunts, motion and/or leadership. Seventh graders, Taylor Fail, Hope Kinser and Kori Lehman were all nominated for All-American. Eighth grader, Riley Booher, was also nominated for this honor.
 
2017-18 squad members …
 
KJH 2017-2018 squad members include: Riley Booher, Whitney Malone, Summer Pratt, Shelby Shallcross, Gabi Simpson, Adrianna Arriaga, Kya Cooper-Chadwick, Ellie Crain, Kyria Dorsey-Lawson, Taylor Fail, Trinity Grant, Hope Kinser and Kori Lehman.
 
Mrs. Kimberly Hamblin, is the KJH Cheer Sponsor.
