lots of first for this class …

Some of the first that this class was a part of over the

    newcasts and the first entry into a state video contest that finished as one of the top three videos in Texas Class 4A;

  • the start of the first outdoor education program that produces

    top state teams in archery and bass fishing in its first year;

  • first ever back to back state titles by any KHS team in UIL athletics

    events, again won by the LadyKats soccer team (Note: in non-UIL competition, the

    KHS men?s power lifting teams won back

    to back state titles in 2007 & 2008).

KHS Theatre Program advance in one-act competition for the first time in 8

go along with the two state championships; the high school computer science team continuing to challenge the best teams in the area in head to head meets after

finishing second in the state last year; the continued expansion of the CTE program with one of the first progams, health science, successfully placing of a number of students in hospital settings with some earning certification; and, the somewhat controversial change from individual textbooks to laptops and no lockers.

top four finish in Lone Star Cup 4 years in a row …

Throughout all four years for these seniors, Kennedale

remained one of the top four 4A high schools in Texas in the Lone Star Cup competition (a competition that includes results of state academic, band and athletic

contests). This year Kennedale is

year, a 3rd place two years ago and a 2nd place finish in
