The Kennedale Wildcats (6-5-1) will face off against Melissa (5-4-2) at 7:30 p.m. The Wildcats defeated Stephenville 1-0 on Friday but lost to Argyle 2-0 last Tuesday night. All three of these teams, including Melissa, are viable regional contenders and are a good measuring stick for Kennedale.
Head Coach Michael Strange believes that the Cats will win the game tonight. If so, that would mean that the Wildcats would carry a winning record over into district play which starts on Tuesday against a good Diamond Hill-Jarvis team.

The Kennedale LadyKats (9-2) defeated Argyle 5-1 on Tuesday night off of goals by Cara Hunt, Alondra Olmos, Abby Olmos, and two by Allie Thornton. The game was decided early as just over 20 minutes into the game Kennedale was up 3-0.

Kennedale and Melissa have not played any common opponents. Melissa is new to UIL soccer so past player and team history is of no value.
Perhaps the only possible measure is that of quality of opponents based on early season rankings. Melissa has not played any team with state or regional rankings except Crandall at #4 in a pre-season TASCO state poll. Kennedale has faced six teams with state or regional rankings.
In a recent MaxPreps 4A ranking based on season records, Melissa is #2 and Kennedale is #4.
