KHS Students entry in UIL Film Festival makes state-semifinals

For the first time, students from Kennedale High School are competing in the UIL Young Filmmakers Festival. {{more}}
 
The students are part of the high school?s AV program and the KHS theater department.
 
The KHS entry ?Plascity? was written and directed by senior Gage Tijerina. Actors in the film are Hailey Green, Benjamin Garcia and Derek Isensee.
 
The film has passed the first two rounds of judging and is now in the state semi-finals.
 
Overall, there were about 1,000 videos submitted this year to the UIL Film Festival. Over 100 videos were entered in Kennedale?s division and category.
 
As it currently stands, KHS?s entry is in the top 20 in the state for Division 1, Narrative category.

State finalists will be announced this weekend.
