KHS Theatre advances with top honors in UIL district competition 4th time in last four years

Play synopsis: Tood, Weetsie and Sybill are brides in rural Louisiana in 1943. Each married a Cliffert brother. The men are off to war and a local news story about these young wives keeping the home fires burning intrigues Henry Luce. He decides that they belong on the cover Life Magazine and assigns Kate Miller to the story. She has been covering the war in Europe and, though she views doing a “women’s piece” as a career set back, she accepts.? Play by R.T Robinson.

In district competition KHS students Layla Noble-Davis earned Best Performer honors, Maddie Fail was named to the All-Star Cast, and, Alia Boubel was named to Honorable Mention All-Star Cast.

This is the 4th straight year that a Kennedale One Act Play has advanced to UIL bi-district level competition. Last year both Alia Boubel and Maddie Fail both made the All-Star District Cast. Alia Boubel was also made the Honorable Mention Cast in 2018 and Maddie Fail was an All-Star Cast member in 2018.
