The KHS Concert Band under the direction of Dimitri?Higginbotham received an excellent rating for their stage performance and a Superior rating for Sightreading on Tuesday April 16th at UIL.The KHS Symphonic Band under the direction of Erol Oktay received straight Ones for Superior Ratings from all judges for their performance Wednesday April 17th. {{more}}?The Band Program has now received UIL Highest Honor for band programs for the 7th time in 8 years ? THE UIL SWEEPSTAKES Award!?KHS also had a great showing at at the Region 7 UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest with about 50 contestants.?Kennedale had 28 soloists and 2 ensembles awarded First Divisions. We were also awarded 7 second division and 2 third division solos, and 2 second division ensembles.?From the First division winners, 11 students are now eligible to advance to the UIL State Solo and Ensemble Contest to be held in May.
