For the second year in a row, the Kennedale High School Varsity Wildcat Baseball team has earned the American Baseball Coaches Association Team Academic Excellence Award, announced KHS Head Coach Paul Trantham. {{more: Read More … }}
The ABCA honors teams from every level of college and high school baseball for earning a team grade point average of 3.0 or above.
“With all that is expected of our student-athletes, achieving a team GPA of 3.0 or above is truly an accomplishment. It is a testament to the leadership and commitment of our member coaches to developing their players into individuals who will be successful on and off the field,” said ABCA Executive Director Craig Keilitz.
In total, 224 programs were recognized with the 2016-17 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, including 70 high school programs and 60 teams from NCAA Division III.
