It is not always easy being the second sibling, the oldest seems to get all the attention. You would think that is how Kennedale Junior High School feels at times with Kennedale High School getting the lion’s share of the attention. But going into this new school year, the students, staff and parents have a lot to brag about and to look forward to in this year. {{more}}
 
Last year was a good year, ending on a high note ? KJHS earned 5 special distinctions (honors) on the TEA Accountability System ratings. This was the best in the district and one of the tops in the area. In 2012-13, KJHS had earned 6 of 7 distinctions.
 
Here are just a few of the KJHS Accomplishments in the school year 2014-15
  • Future Cities Team ? Excellence in the Application of Water Recycling Award
  • Earned ?Exemplary? ratings in Community and Student Engagement Assessment
  • Met all TEA State Accountability standards plus earned 5 out of 7 distinctions* (the most of any district campus)
  • 31 All-Region Band Honors
  • KJHS History Teacher, Mr. Gross – Listed as an editor and contributor in McGraw Hill?s newest US History text, United States History to 1877
  • UIL Academic District Champions
  • KJHS 8th Grade Football Team – 2014 J. E. T. District Champions – All KJHS Volleyball teams finished with winning season – KJHS Track team captured championship titles at Alvarado Invitation
Besides KJHS Prinicpal Michael Cagle and the teachers and staff are proud to remind the high school where all their great students came from.
