The Kennedale Police Department reported the following incidents for the week period of July 9 through July 15, 2017. {{more: Continue … }}

These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.

 
Incident Reports …
 
7/09 – Possession Control Substance – US 287: At 11:29 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. During an interview of the 21 year old male driver, the officer discovered that the driver had an arrest warrant issued out of Smith County. Upon confirmation of the warrant, the driver was arrested. During an inventory of the vehicle, a bag of a white powder that tested positive for cocaine was found on the floorboard. The driver was also charged with possession of a controlled substance. He was transported to jail for booking.

7/10 – Harassment – North Road: At 3:42 p.m. a 24 year old female victim reported that her 25 year old ex-boyfriend had been texting her with offensive and threatening messages toward her and her child. The messages are due to a disagreement that the two had over the theft of some money. The victim had told the suspect to move out of the house after he refused to return the money. Screen shots of the messages were provided to the officer for inclusion in the report.

7/10 – Possession Control Substance – Oak Crest Drive E.: At 5:55 p.m. an officer checked a license plate on a vehicle and discovered warrants attached to the plate number. Upon stopping the vehicle and interviewing the 26 year old male driver, the warrants could not be confirmed but the driver was found to be in possession of a baggie of cocaine. He was taken into custody and transported to jail for booking.

7/11 – Possession Control Substance – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 12:15 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the interview of the 46 year old driver, it was discovered that he had an arrest warrant out of Tarrant County for violation of a protective order. He was taken into custody and searched for weapons. Officers located marijuana and methamphetamine on the suspect?s person as well as a pipe used to the smoke narcotics. The suspect was transported to jail for booking.

7/11 – Abandoned/ Found Property – 200 block of S. New Hope Road: At 2:24 p.m. an officer responded to Sonora Park and met with a Public Works employee. The employee gave the officer several $10 and $20 counterfeit bills that were found on the side of the road while employees were mowing. The bills were placed in evidence to be turned over to the Secret Service.

7/11 – Robbery – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 6:25 p.m. officers responded to a robbery in progress call. Upon arrival at the location, officers were informed that a male had approached the counter of the store and stated that he had rent to pay and wanted the money from the register. Neither the clerks nor a customer who witnessed the incident stated that they felt threatened by the male and they did not give the male any money. He left in a vehicle driven by a second male. A license plate number of the vehicle was provided to officers. Due to no weapon being displayed and no one being threatened, the offense was unfounded.

7/12 – Aggravated Robbery – Jake Circle: At 1:20 a.m. three victims were robbed while sitting on the front porch of a home. The victims reported that two males approached them at a run and demanded property. One of the suspects physically assaulted a victim while the other suspect held a rifle on the victims. After taking a cell phone and wallet the suspects ran to a silver SUV driven by a third person. The cell phone signal was tracked to an apartment complex in Fort Worth. A stolen vehicle fitting the description of the suspect getaway car was discovered. The vehicle was processed for evidence by Fort Worth crime scene officers.

7/12 – Fail to Identify (Fugitive) – 500 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 12:53 a.m. an officer stopped to assist a motorist parked in a traffic lane. The lone vehicle occupant, an adult male, gave several different names and dates of birth before finally giving his correct information. He stated that he had warrants from Kennedale and Mansfield and didn?t want to go to jail. Before the warrants could be confirmed the robbery call on Jake Circle was dispatched and both officers had to clear for that incident. The driver?s address is known to officers and he was released at the scene to be arrested later.

7/13 – Sexual Assault of a Child – At 1:36 an officer was notified of an offense that occurred in Kennedale last year. The report is pending from another agency.

7/13 – Fail to Identify – Green Circle Drive: At 5:20 p.m. an officer stopped a suspicious vehicle. During the interview it was determined that the driver was giving fictitious identifying information. He was taken into custody and transported to jail for booking.

7/14 – Robbery – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 2:57 a.m. officers responded to a report of a robbery. A clerk reported that a male suspect entered the business and asked for money from the register. No weapon was displayed and the suspect never made any overt threat towards employees. A later interview with the clerk revealed that the clerk was not threatened but felt sorry for the suspect and gave him the money. The robbery offense was unfounded.

7/15 – Driving While Intoxicated – Mansfield Highway: At 2:41 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for erratic driving. The operator, a 39 year old male, smelled of alcoholic beverage. He was unable to successfully perform a field sobriety assessment and was arrested for DWI. He was transported to jail for booking.
