The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 19 incidents for the one week period January 27, 2018 through February 2, 2019. The reports included burglary of vehicle, assault, animal bite, DWI, death investigation and delivery of dangerous substance. {{more: continue …}}

These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.

1/27 – Incident -? Jonah Road: At 8:22 p.m. an officer was contacted by an out of state resident in regards to a stolen IPad. The item was stolen this past Christmas in Tennessee and she had tracked the IPad to an address in Kennedale. The officer went to the address given by the victim and was able to locate the stolen device. The person in possession of it stated that she had purchased the device from an online seller in the original city in Tennessee where it was stolen. The device was placed in property and evidence for safekeeping.

1/28 – Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) -? At 11:40 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A female victim reported that she had been assaulted by her husband. The suspect became physical during an argument and struck the victim. He was placed under arrest and transported to jail for booking.

1/28 – Burglary of Vehicle – Bell Oak Drive: At 8:12 a.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) had entered his Dodge truck overnight. Entry was made by puncturing the driver side window. Nothing was taken. Damage to the window was estimated at $500.00.

1/28 – Burglary of Vehicle – Fountain Court: At 8:30 a.m. officers responded to a report of a break-in of a Ford truck. The truck was entered overnight and a small amount of cash was removed.

1/28 – Burglary of Vehicle ? Oak Forest Court: At 10:31 a.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown had entered his unlocked vehicle and removed stereo equipment. The offense occurred between 7:50 and 10:00 a.m.

1/29 – Driving While Intoxicated -? W. Kennedale Parkway: At 12:55 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for erratic driving. The adult female driver exhibited symptoms of intoxication and could not successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. She was arrested and transported to jail for booking and a blood draw.

1/29 – Assault by Contact -? At 9:20 a.m. a school resource officer received a report of an assault that occurred at school A female victim reported that a female suspect had assaulted her while the two were alone in a classroom. Both are students at the school. The suspect was charged in municipal court with the assault.

1/28 – Burglary of Vehicle ? E. Kennedale Parkway: At 12:27 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) entered a Lincoln Navigator and removed the radio from the dash. Also taken from the vehicle was the catalytic convertor.

1/29 – Animal Bite ? Falcon Ridge Drive: A dog owner reported that while he was walking his pet, another dog began barking at them and was able to leave the enclosed yard to attack the owner?s pet. The owner, an adult male, received wounds from protecting his pet. The victim was able to provide the type of dog and the address where it is located.

1/30 – Criminal Mischief $2500 to $30,000 – Corry A. Edwards Drive: At 2:29 p.m. an officer received a report of a vehicle being damage. A victim reported that his Ford truck was parked on his property. An unknown vehicle had struck the passenger side door.

1/30 – Burglary of Vehicle – Hilltop Drive: At 3:33 p.m. a victim reported that his vehicle was burglarized in November of 2018. Unknown person(s) entered the unsecured vehicle and removed an electronic device and a watch. The items were valued $5,729.99. The delay in reporting was due to the items not immediately being identified as missing.

1/31 – Delivery of Dangerous Drug – At 11:00 a.m. a school resource officer was contacted by a school staff member in reference to drug use on campus. Five female students were located and interviewed. It was determined that one of the students had provided prescription capsules to the other four. The student did not have a prescription for them and told the others that they were ?happy pills.? The student still had some of the capsules on her when interviewed by the faculty member. A case will be referred to the juvenile court.

1/31 – Death Investigation – North Road: At 12:08 p.m. officers responded to a welfare check. A 58 year old female had not been seen or heard from in several days. Upon looking in a window the female was observed in a prone position on the floor. After gaining entry into the home, the female was found deceased and appeared to have been so for some time. The female was known to have several medical issues. No evidence of foul play was observed and the medical examiner responded to take possession of the deceased.

1/31 – Assault (Family/ Household Member) Impede Breath/ Circulation -? At 5:00 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Two juvenile brothers had gotten into an altercation when one of the brothers placed the other in a hold that impeded his breath. The suspect left the location but responding officers detained him based on dispatch descriptions put out on the radio. The suspect was transported to the juvenile detention center.

2/01 – Recovered Stolen Vehicle (other agency) – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 6:15 p.m. officers responded to a stolen truck report. A victim contacted dispatch to state that a company truck was taken in Fort Worth by an employee. The vehicle was reported to be at a business in Kennedale. The truck was located and was released to the owner.

2/01 – Incident (other) – Bowman Springs Road: At 8:37 a.m. an officer responded to a report of an online solicitation of female students. A possible known male has been soliciting students to send nude photos to him. At least one report has been made to Arlington police where the victim resides.

2/01 – Incident (other) – At 1:00 p.m. a school resource officer was notified of a juvenile student making suicidal threats. After an investigation by the officer and CPS it was determined that the juvenile needed to be seen at Cooks Children Hospital. The student was transported by his parent.

2/02 – Possession Control Substance – E. IH 20: At 2:39 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for erratic driving. The adult female driver had a child in the rear seat and stated that she was looking for her husband. The husband was reported to have jumped from the vehicle and walked away. The driver was looking for him when the officer observed her. The officer observed both marijuana and cocaine located in bags and sitting in the cup holder of the front seat, in plain view. A family member responded to take the child and the female was arrested. She was transported to jail for booking.

2/02 – Assault by Contact – 1000 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 10:13 a.m. officers responded to an assault. Two employees had gotten into an argument and one of the employees struck the other in the head. The suspect was charged with assault in municipal court.
