The Kennedale Police Department reported the following nine incidents for the one week period beginning January 14, 2018 through January 20, 2018 and included an aggravated robbery, criminal trespass, and DWI.? {{more: continue …}}

These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.

1/14 – Credit/ Debit Card Abuse – S. New Hope Road: At 9:25 a.m. a victim reported that an unknown person had used her debit card to make purchases without her permission. The victim was able to describe a possible suspect.

1/14 – Criminal Trespass – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 10:13 a.m. officers responded to a complaint of a panhandler at a business. The suspect had been given a criminal trespass warning several months earlier. The suspect was arrested for criminal trespass and his female companion was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Arlington. Both were transported to jail for booking.

1/14 – Incident – Oak Hill Park: At 3:02 p.m. an officer responded to a report of a runaway juvenile female. The female left home due to a disagreement with her parents. The juvenile contacted her parents after a few hours and requested to be picked up in Arlington. The juvenile was removed from the national runaway database.

1/14 – Indecency with a Child – Pine Meadow Drive: At 2:46 p.m. an officer responded to a complaint of assault. An adult female reported that her 13 year old daughter had been touched in an inappropriate manner by an adult male neighbor. The case is still under investigation.

1/16 – Assault by Contact – Municipal Drive: At 11:36 a.m. an officer received an assault report. The adult male victim reported that he was assaulted by offensive touching by a known suspect. The offense occurred in August of 2017.

1/17 – Burglary – Caymus Street: At 9:30 a.m. an officer received a report of a burglary at several homes under construction. Unknown suspect(s) removed numerous items that totaled $1,734.00.

1/17 – Aggravated Robbery – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 6:36 p.m. officers responded to a report of an aggravated (armed) robbery. Two males entered a business and displayed firearms, robbing the store clerk and a customer. The suspects left the scene in a black pickup truck.

1/18 – Application for Mental Detention and Observation – Mansfield Cardinal Road: At 10:14 p.m. an officer was flagged down by an adult male pedestrian. The male stated that he was ?hearing voices? and was contemplating suicide. The male was taken into custody and was transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency detention and evaluation.

1/20 – DWI, Possession of Marijuana – Corry A. Edwards Drive: At 3:28 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. The adult female driver smelled of alcoholic beverage and had an unrestrained 5 year old child in the rear seat. The female was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment and was arrested for investigation of DWI. During the interview of the suspect she was also found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and related paraphernalia. The suspect was transported to jail for booking. Pursuant to a search warrant, a blood draw was conducted at the jail. The child was turned over to a family member who responded to the scene.
