The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 8 incidents for the one week period July 1 through July 7, 2018. The reports included burglary, DWI, resisting arrest and assault. {{more: continue …}}

These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.

7/1 – Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) -? At 11:10 a.m. officers responded to a domestic assault. An adult brother and sister had gotten into an argument when the brother became physical and assaulted the sister. He was arrested for assault bodily injury (family violence) and transported to jail for booking.

7/3 – Evading Arrest or Detention – Everman-Kennedale-Burleson Road: At 12:04 p.m. an officer observed a vehicle with no tail lights. When the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, the male driver exited the vehicle while it was still moving and fled into a nearby pasture. Assist units arrived but were unable to locate the driver/suspect. An inspection of the vehicle revealed that the ignition lock had been tampered with and the vehicle ignition did not have a key in it. Officers believed the vehicle to be an as-yet unreported stolen vehicle and impounded it for safekeeping. The owner could not be contacted by phone.

7/3 – Theft – $250 to $30,000 ? N. Little School Road: At 5:07 p.m. officers responded to a theft of cell phones. A company employee stated that three males dressed as women entered the business and removed two Apple IPhones. The phones were valued at $1,799.98. While receiving the report, Arlington police notified officers of a similar offense that had just occurred on Cooper Street. The suspects were three males dressed as women. The case remains open and under investigation.

7/4 – Driving While Intoxicated – Brenhaven Drive: At 4:03 a.m. an officer observed a vehicle speeding on Little School Road. The vehicle attempted to elude the officer but finally stopped. The adult male driver told the officer that he attempted to flee to avoid being arrested for DWI. The driver was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment and was arrested. He was transported to jail for a voluntary blood draw and booking.

7/4 – Burglary – Industrial Drive: At 12:58 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) illegally entered his property and removed a number of miscellaneous metal items. The victim believes that a suspect could be a male that contacted the victim earlier and purchased some metal items from him.

7/5 – Robbery ? W. Kennedale Parkway: At 12:01 a.m. a suspect entered an open business and demanded money from the cash drawer. The suspect displayed a bag containing what the victim thought to be a weapon. The suspect took the money and left on foot toward Forest Hill.

7/5 – Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) – At 8:03 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A female victim reported that she had been assaulted by her adult boyfriend while he was driving their vehicle. The suspect then dropped the victim off on a corner and left.

7/7 – Driving While Intoxicated – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 11:19 p.m. officers responded to a minor accident. One of the drivers, an adult male, was determined to be intoxicated. He was placed under arrested and prepared for transport to jail. While in the rear seat of the police vehicle, the suspect became combative and urinated on himself and the seat. Once he was inside the jail the suspect continued to resist officers and assaulted a confinement officer. A search warrant was secured to draw blood and the jail nurse obtained the sample while the suspect continued to resist. The suspect was released to jail personnel.
