The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 11 incidents for the one week period April 28, 2019 through May 4, 2019. The reports included DWI, assault, and disorderly conduct. {{more: continue …}}

These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.

4/27 – Assault Bodily Injury – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 10:09 p.m. officers responded to a report of multiple people fighting. On arrival officers found a large number of people involved in an argument. Several of the persons present, male and female, reported having been assaulted but did not require medical attention. The fight was allegedly the result of a soccer game disagreement. Multiple videos of the incident were apparently made but none were available to the officers. Officers were able to get several victim statements and the business owner agreed to provide video from the security system on the following Monday. The incident is still under investigation.

4/28 – Disorderly Conduct (Discharge/ Display Firearm) – Fawn Meadow Trail: At 12:25 p.m. officers responded to a report of multiple shots fired in a neighborhood. On arrival, officers search the area and located five spent brass shell casings in a driveway. The homeowners reported that they had been in bed and heard the shots but didn?t know where they came from. No property damage or injuries were discovered during the investigation.

4/29 – Abandoned Vehicle – Bolen Road: At 11:41 a.m. an officer checked an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle had been tagged by another officer as a traffic two several days earlier and it was still unmoved. The officer impounded the vehicle for safekeeping until the owner can be contact.

4/29 – Assault by Contact -? At 8:43 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. An adult female victim reported that she and her husband were having an argument. The husband threw an object at the victim, striking her in the face and neck. A later interview with the suspect revealed that he did throw the bottle and strike the victim. He was charged with assault by contact and was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Grand Prairie.

4/28 – Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 2:58 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. An adult female victim stated that her boyfriend had been smoking methamphetamine for several days and had left a pipe in her home. She destroyed the pipe because she did not want any drug use in her home. When the suspect found out about the destruction he assaulted her by striking her with his fists and kicking her. The suspect then left the scene for an unknown destination.

4/30 – Incident (other) -? At 7:44 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. An adult female victim reported that she had been in an argument with her boyfriend earlier in the evening. The boyfriend left the home and the victim locked the front door for safety. The suspect then kicked open the door to the residence. The victim took her children and left to contact police. A check of the residence by the officers revealed that the suspect had left the scene.

5/01 – DWI – N. Little School Road: At 2:16 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for erratic driving. The adult female driver appeared to be intoxicated on alcohol. She was unable to successfully pass a field sobriety assessment. She was arrested for DWI and transported to jail for booking. The female refused consent to a voluntary blood draw so a warrant was obtained. The blood draw was completed by the jail nurse.

5/01 – Death Investigation ? Attended Death – At 12:50 p.m. an officer responded to a deceased person call. A 70 year old male was found to be deceased as a result of an on-going illness. He had been under hospice care for some time. No foul play was suspected.

5/01 – DWI – Corry A. Edwards Drive: At 9:55 p.m. officers responded to a one-vehicle accident. The adult male driver appeared to be intoxicated on alcohol and was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. The driver was arrested for DWI. He was transported to jail for book-in as well as a voluntary blood draw.

5/02 – DWI – Mansfield Cardinal Road: At 5:35 p.m. an officer observed a Ford Edge stopped on the side of the road. An adult female was observed in the driver seat. She was unconscious with the vehicle in gear and her foot on the brake. The female was unable to fully wake up and EMS responded to check her condition. Paramedics decided to transport the female to Mansfield Methodist Hospital due to her apparent extreme intoxication. A blood draw warrant was obtained and hospital personnel drew the sample. The female was admitted to the hospital for treatment. Officers released custody until such time as treatment has been rendered and an arrest warrant can be obtained.

5/03 – Incident (other) – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 6:13 p.m. officers met with a victim who reported that her vehicle had been stolen in Arlington by her estranged husband. The victim reported the theft to Arlington police. The husband left the vehicle at a local auto detailing business in Kennedale. The vehicle was located and returned to the owner. Arlington was notified of the recovery.
