City Council Member Fernandez Resigns
 
City Council Member Frank Fernandez has submitted his resignation from the Kennedale City Council effective Saturday, April 29, 2017. {{more: READ MORE … }}
 
Mr. Fernandez submitted a letter of resignation to Mayor Brian Johnson late Saturday evening citing health and personal issues as the reason he has decided to resign at this time.
 
Fernandez has served on the City Council since May 2011, and is currently on the May 6 ballot seeking re-election to Place 5.
 
?I received a letter of resignation from Mr. Fernandez late yesterday and want the public to be aware of the resignation as soon as possible, particularly since we are less than a week away from a City Council election and there are only two days of early voting remaining for that city election,? Johnson said.
 
Early voting continues through Tuesday, May 2. Polling places for early voting will be open on Sunday, April 30 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Monday, May 1 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and; on Tuesday, May 2 from 7:00 a.m. until 7 p.m. The general election date is Saturday, May 6 with polls open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
