Kennedale Police: Attempted Abduction at Sonara Park Friday evening

The Kennedale Polie Department reported that officers responded to a reported abduction attempt at Sonora Park that occured between 8:30 and 9:00 p.m. Friday evening. {{more: read more …}}

Two children, aged 6 and 7, said that they were approached at the playground by two suspects who attempted to persuade them to leave the park. The attempt was unsuccessful and the suspects left in a vehicle described as a dark-colored truck or SUV, possibly a GM product. The suspects were described as a white male and white female, dressed in camouflage and left toward New Hope Road.

After further investigation, the attempted abduction report was listed as an incident. Due to conflicting suspect and vehicle information from the juveniles, it is unknown if this attempt really happened or not. A report was generated as a precaution in the event that the attempt is proven later to be true.

But parents are cautioned to watch their children closely while using any public park.
