The Kennedale Police Department reported the following seven incidents for the one week period beginning February 11 through February 18, 2018 and included abandoned vehicle in the highway, theft and public intoxication. {{more: continue …}}

These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.

2/12 – Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) – At 12:52 a.m. a victim came to the police station and reported to an officer that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The victim stated that the suspect came to her home and entered without her permission. The victim requested that the suspect leave numerous times before he became angry and struck her several times in the face. The victim was able to leave and had a friend bring her to the police department. The victim refused medical treatment after being attended to by paramedics.

2/12 – Public Intoxication – 1100 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 9:49p.m. officers responded to an assist call from Forest Hill police. A female told Forest Hill officers that her ex-boyfriend (suspect) had their child in a vehicle and had driven to Kennedale. The suspect was alleged to be ?heavily intoxicated.? Officers located the suspect at a restaurant parking lot on Kennedale Parkway near I-20. The suspect did appear to have been drinking heavily and had the child with him. The suspect refused to exit the vehicle and became combative with officers while trying to put the car in gear to drive away. The suspect was finally pulled from the vehicle but continued to resist officers?commands. After a brief struggle the suspect was placed in handcuffs and transported to jail for booking.

2/14 – Fraudulent Use/ Possession of Identifying Information, Possession of Controlled Substance, Recovered Stolen Vehicle – At 3:32 a.m. an officer was on patrol and observed a vehicle parked at a residence with an interior light on. A male was walking through the yard of the residence. A license plate check of the vehicle showed it to be reported stolen out of Fort Worth. Upon stopping to investigate, a female was discovered to be sleeping in the passenger seat. The female stated that she was driven to the residence by a friend but did not know the friend?s name, only his nickname. The female was found to be in possession of a driver?s license for another female as well as a syringe and Xanax pills that were not prescribed to her. The female was placed under arrest and transported to jail for booking. Officers attempted to locate the male driver described by the female. He was not found in the residence. The vehicle was impounded and held for Fort Worth.

2/15 – Theft $750 to $2,500 – Pine Meadow Drive: At 4:16 p.m.a victim came to the police department to report a theft at her residence. The victim stated that she had allowed a female acquaintance to stay at her home for a few days in January. The suspect is alleged to have taken numerous items of electronics, cash, and jewelry when she left. The value of the items was placed at $2,207.00.

2/15 – Incident -? ?At 7:58 p.m. an officer responded to the Forest Hill jail for a prisoner pick-up. A male inmate was arrested on Kennedale warrants and was being held. The officer took custody of the officer and transported him to jail for booking. The inmate?s property was not able to be left with jailers due to the size and amount. The items were brought to the police department and placed in property and evidence to be held until the inmate?s release.

2/15 – Assault Bodily Injury – North Road: At 11:30 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. The suspect, an adult female, was standing in the yard of her former boyfriend?s residence. During an altercation, the suspect had assaulted a female victim who was on the scene.The victim, who is currently in a relationship with the male, displayed injuries consistent with witness accounts of the assault. The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to jail for booking.

2/17 – Abandoned Vehicle – 900 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: An officer observed a vehicle parked and abandoned in a traffic lane of Kennedale Parkway. The owner could not be contacted to move it. The vehicle was towed as a traffic hazard.
