This past weekend the Kennedale Lady Kats played in the Mansfield Sunrise Rotary Volleyball Tournament finishing in the top ten in their first tournament of the season. {{more}}
Thirty-two teams were entered and most were 5A or 6A teams including all the Mansfield high school teams, Midland Lee, Midland High, Bryan Adams (Dallas), Keller Central, Irving High, MacArthur High, Trinity, EP Americas (El Paso), El Paso High, Crowley, Lubbock, and four Arlington high schools.
In pool play, Kennedale went 3-3 by beating Dallas Bryan Adams (25-14, 25-11), SW Christian (25-14, 25-22) and Mansfield Timberview (27-25, 25-19). The Lady Kats lost games to Mansfield Lake Ridge (25-11, 21-25, 25-15), Arlington Martin (25-19, -25-22) and Midland High (25-27, 25-4, 27-25).
Kennedale made it to the Gold Bracket just under the Championship Bracket finishing in second place after beating Mansfield Legacy and then losing to Arlington High. Overall the LadyKats finished in 9th place in the 32 field. The Lady Kats were the only 4A team in the top 12.

The Lady Kat game against Mansfield Summit scheduled for this Tuesday has been cancelled.
