Lady Kats Basketball take two in a row on the road

The Kennedale Lady Kats basketball team (3-3) in a pre-district tough schedule, started off the season with a win but then suffered losses to three strong teams, #2 Argyle, #1 Waco La Vega and 4A Dallas Lincoln.

The Lady Kats have bounced back to take wins against (4A) Dallas Hillcrest Friday night and then last night against 2A Godley. {{more}}

The Kats took down Hillcrest by a score of 71-32. Hillcrest was never in the game as Kennedale dominated all periods and all phases of the game. The Lady Kats took a 23-10 lead in the first quarter and went into the half with a 36 point spread.

McKinley Bostad (Sr) led all scorers with 20 points. Other Lady Kats in double figures were Briana Ellis (Sr) with 13 and Jasymn Poe (Jr) with 11 points. Nia Watson (Sr) had 8.

On Monday night the Lady Kats visited Godley and came away with a 53-23 win. The Godley Lady Wildcats (1-2) struggled throughout the game scoring only 4 in the first quarter and by halftime the score was 30-10.

Bostad again led all scorers with 23 points followed by Poe and Ellis with 10 points. Watson had 4.

The wins come at a good time. Kennedale still is finding its footing with a new head coach, new plays and a new line-up. Wins will help boost the confidence of the young team that has a lot of talent.

Next week the Lady Kats have at another test as they play another ranked team, the 2A Brock Lady Eagles currently ranked #2 with a 7-1 record. The game is at Brock and schedule for Tuesday night (12-3-13) at 6:30 p.m.
